Busch Gardens

Yesterday I went to Busch Gardens for the first time with some friends. It was one of the best theme parks I have ever went to. I rode some roller coasters and saw some animals. And now it's time for the first ever... Review Revue!

First of all, let's start with the so-called kiddy coaster in the park: Cheetah Chase. I'll start off by saying how can that be deemed a kiddy coaster? It is way too intense. But in retrospect, after you regain your breath and resort your limbs, it is pretty fun. Now let's go across the street to my personal favorite, SCORPION.

Now the catchphrase is "Feel the sting of the Scorpion," but personally I think the sting was next door. Scorpion is an extremely awesome ride and is great for families if they have kids that don't mind going upside down. Anyway, it is a great photo op if you have a skilled cameraman in your party. Also, it gets really close to the ground which is also a great thrill. The downside though is the length: 1 min. Very short, my friends, very short. But hey, great ride for those who are willing. Go when it's not peak season; no line.

Let's go back to the beginning of the park. Land of the Dragons. Looks like a good family playground in the brochure. I had the short-lived privilege of guiding my party from SheikRa to here. And with my good feeling we finally found the entrance and everyone but the adults and I had fun going on the kiddy rides and playgrounds. That's right. 3 kids out of 4 kids got to have merriment. Talk about a mood killer! I am sorry about being bias but I am extremely jealous of them. Even a kid my age got to get on this stuff. Dang 56" max. height! (I'm 61"!) But for those who are feeling the same way, Land of the Dragons is closing soon and is going to be replaced with Sesame Street's Safari of Fun. For those of you with preschoolers, I wish you luck in Spring 2010. But at least you can follow your kids through a rope trail. I had quite a history with ropes, but that's for another post.

Next is Rhino Rally. It is a great free safari. (For a great in depth safari, the Sergenti, be sure to have an extra $33 at hand). Be SURE NOT to sit in the FRONT or BACK; you WILL get wet and/or soaked.

Also try some of the carnival rides. They are safe so I hear. Also try the Ubanga-banga Bumper Cars for old times` sake. It will be great to show the kids.

SheikRa. The mother of all roller coasters. Even if you don't go on it (like me) you can still have some fun on a warm day: due to a one-of-a-kind-on-a-floorless-coaster technology called the "splashdown" and physics, when ShiekRa goes down for the more than first time by the Sergenti Train Express at Staneyville, guests too close will get very soaked; even those far away will get hit by the aftermist.

Montu. Very Intense. I didn't go on it, but my mom did and she said, "I like it, but it's one I would only go on once." Mom also noted that she felt dizziness after experiencing Montu. She also noticed that your feet may go in a direction and it seems like they'll hit something. Montu is an inverted roller coaster at the Egypt section of Busch Gardens named after the Egyptian god of war.

So as you can see, I didn't ride EVERYTHING, but that's OK. Some of you might be mad that I didn't ride SheikRa and/or Montu, but hey, I can't go on both even if I wanted to; Montu has been deemed too intense for me to go on. Again, I didn't ride everything, but again that's OK 'cause we have things called the FunPass. Pay for a day, come back all year. I trust you have heard of it. And here's a special Anheuser-Busch offer: Buy a FunPass now and it doesn't expire 'till 12-31-10! So that's the end off my special Busch Gardens post!

(No video today. Sorry!)

Montu is my favorite because it lasts the longest. We go on that one over and over. You will enjoy the terror of Sheikra someday too!

I plan to ride SheikRa someday... someday. I'll also ride ride Kumba. I'll save the flumes for a warmer day, but not humid. Someday I will fulfill the first "RC (Roller Coaster) Update" post. Yeah. Oh, BTW, guys, how do you like the videos on the blog? Does it add something?
